Japanisch-peruanische Fusion bei Shima: Eine lokale Perspektive
The restaurant Shima at the Four Seasons Formentor is more than a place to eat — it is an experience. With a unique fusion of Japanese precision and Peruvian flavors, known as Nikkei cuisine, this restaurant draws guests from around the world. The setting alone is impressive: amid the luxurious resort you can enjoy views of the Tramuntana mountains and the lush gardens. The atmosphere is calm and stylish, perfect for a special evening. Here not only flavor is served, but also a story — told through every dish and every ingredient.

The culinary highlight: Bonsái menu

When you order the Bonsái menu, expect small masterpieces on your plate. Our experience began with a crispy corn chip topped with salmon tartare and chilis — a perfect start. Then came delicate scallops and prawns in a fresh tiradito, as well as grilled zamburiñas with spicy rocoto sauce. The hamachi nigiri with spicy miso was a true umami hit. Other highlights included yakitori chicken with anticuchera sauce and robata-grilled sea bass with an intense seafood bisque. For meat lovers there are tender lamb chops with eggplant and pulled-lamb tacos — both perfectly showcase the range of the cuisine.

Desserts and Conclusion

At the end of our evening we tried the Cacao Cabose dessert — a combination of chocolate cream, coconut mousse and toasted meringue. This was accompanied by tropical mocktails and a sake tasting. This sweet finale perfectly rounded off the experience.

Why You Should Visit Shima

If you're looking for bold Nikkei flavors in an elegant mountain setting, Shima is the right place for you. It's not just a restaurant, but a culinary journey.
