Mallorca mit Kindern: Der praktische Familienguide
Mallorca isn't just sun and sangría — you can organize family life here wonderfully if you know a few local tricks. In this guide I share my favorite spots, mistakes (yes, that parking ticket incident) and routines that make holidays or life with children more relaxed. From small sandy coves that little ones love, to indoor alternatives for rainy afternoons, to places where parents can enjoy a coffee in peace: it's all included. I write from experience: early mornings at the beach, a midday snack at an ice-cream bar (pro tip: churros next to the harbor of Port de Pollença), and a short siesta in the afternoon before heading out again. This guide is practical, local and no frills — exactly what families here really need.

Family beaches that really work

For small children I love shallow coves like Port de Pollença and Playa de Muro: wide, fine sand, shallow water and enough space for sandcastles. Cala Sant Vicenç is great if you want some nature and peace; the three coves are right next to each other and you can walk between them. Cala Millor is practical if you need amenities: shops, toilets and ice-cream stands, all within walking distance. Tip: arrive early (between 9 and 10 a.m.), then you'll find shade under the pines or good spots with parasols. Always bring water, a sunshade and a small first-aid kit — the pharmacies on the coast often close at 2 p.m. For babies, travel baby tubs and a lightweight pop-up pavilion are worth their weight in gold.
