Mallorca im Juli: Notizen einer Einheimischen
July in Mallorca feels like an island comfortably settling into summer mode: long days, lots of sun, and evenings that never really 'end'. In the morning the air is already warm; around 06:00 the light begins — perfect for an early coffee and an ensaimada at a small bakery. During the day, seek shade, eat slowly and make use of the sea; I swear by a siesta in the peak heat, then return to the beach around 17:00 when the water is warmest. This month the island offers not only beaches but also small village festivals, concert series in Palma and weekly markets where you can try local tomatoes, almonds and homemade sobrasada. Pack a hat and sunscreen, plan dinner later than usual (around 21:30 is normal) and book ahead if you want a spot at a popular beach club or a terrace restaurant. July is loud, warm and moody — but that's exactly why it's so Mallorcan.

Weather & Climate in July

July usually brings prolonged sunshine and warm days: daytime temperatures often hover around 30–35 °C, while nights remain pleasant at 20–24 °C. Unlike in August, humidity is often a bit lower, which makes the heat more bearable. Rain is rare; occasional short thunderstorms are possible but not the rule. My tip: rent a car with air conditioning, stay indoors or under pine trees during the hottest hours and use mornings and late afternoons for excursions. Fresh coastal breezes cool things down, so plan trips to the sea for the afternoon when the water is most pleasant.
