The heavy rain warnings mostly did not materialize. For the weekend the weather service forecasts lots of sunshine, mild temperatures and a calm night for Halloween celebrations.
Breathe easy: The weekend brings more sun than rain
The big storm warnings this week did not materialize everywhere. Apart from wet hours in the Tramuntana mountains, Mallorca remained largely spared. Good news for anyone who wants to stroll along the promenade or go out in costume: mostly dry weather is forecast for the weekend.
Friday: Mild and pleasant – a touch of southwest
The morning started pleasantly mild. Early thermometers showed about 17 to 19 degrees – the warmest readings were at the stations on Cabrera and in Llucmajor. During the day temperatures will mostly rise to 22 to 25 degrees. Many districts of Palma will see sunshine, with clouds occasionally passing by. A fresher southwest wind prevents it from getting too warm.
Saturday: Clouds first, sun later
Saturday begins locally cloudy, especially in the south and southwest of the island. If you plan to have a cappuccino outside in the morning, trust the weather change: conditions will clear during the day. Expected highs are around 24 to 26 degrees – Alcúdia could again top the list with just under 26 degrees; Campos and Sa Pobla will reach about 25 degrees.
Sunday: More sun, pleasant temperatures
On Sunday the island will show a sunnier side. Aemet expects more frequent sunshine and gentle maximums between 23 and 26 degrees. Water temperatures in the west are still around 22 degrees, which makes a late swim at the beach quite tempting.
And the night from Friday to Saturday? Good news for Halloween fans: temperatures remain mild and heavier precipitation is not expected. In the bars on the Paseo, women and men will wander in creative costumes – but it is often cooler outside just before midnight.
Outlook: Rain returns, but not until next week
The dry spell is expected to last through Sunday. The first showers and an uncertain weather pattern are predicted only for the new week. Until then: open windows, coffee on the balcony and a walk by the harbor – if you like, before the wind picks up.
In short: Pack a light jacket, but leave the raincoat out of reach for now. Caution is still advised for mountain trips: the Tramuntana received significantly more rainfall this week than the coast.
