At a Magaluf hotel, a 29-year-old visitor allegedly vandalized the room—damaging furniture and throwing the TV out of the window. The Guardia Civil arrested her.

Room Like After a Storm: Police Find a Vandalized Hotel Room

In the early hours of a cool October day, hotel staff in Magaluf called the Guardia Civil. Guests and employees had heard screams, and when the officers opened the door around 3:30 a.m., they were confronted with a sight not seen every day: cabinet doors ripped off, a toppled refrigerator on the floor, and shards on the carpet.

The TV Ended Up on the Terrace Below

Particularly notable: The television was missing—apparently thrown out of the window. Pieces and cables lay on the terrace of the room below. Fortunately, according to police, no one downstairs was injured. The hotel decided to notify the police after objects also fell onto the balcony of a restaurant on the floor below.

The accused is said to be a 29-year-old woman, according to the emergency services, from the English-speaking world. The officers described that she was very agitated and defiant upon their arrival. When attempting to arrest her, she apparently resisted, causing the situation to escalate briefly.

What Now? Charges and Costs

The Guardia Civil took the woman into custody on suspicion of property damage and resisting officers. After the official procedures are completed, it will be assessed whether the hotel will also pursue civil action—for example to claim repair costs. In such cases, thousands of euros can quickly mount: a new TV, furniture, cleaning, and possible days of room downtime.

Magaluf has a reputation as a place for loud nights and wild parties. That creates work for hotels and the police alike. Residents and operators also repeatedly call for clearer rules and more consistent checks so that such incidents do not become the norm.

The incident serves as a reminder: those who vandalize hotels at night risk not only a penalty but also a charge and a hefty bill. The Guardia Civil investigations in CalviĂ  continue, and the hotel is currently assessing the extent of the damage.

A small note from the neighborhood: Avenida de Magaluf is usually quieter at this hour, but the police are present—more than some tourists may think.
