Mallorca is a stunning destination for travelers seeking dramatic and scenic beauty. The island of Mallorca has miles of stunning coastline with natural rock formations that form caves and beaches. The rock formations are an incredible natural feature that adds texture and color to the landscape, making it an extraordinary experience for visitors.
Cala Barques
Cala Barques is a beautiful beach located on the east coast of Mallorca. This unique destination features a remarkable rock formation, which is only complemented by its pristine turquoise waters and white sandy coastline.
The rock formation is one of the highlights of the beach, with rock walls rising from the beach in the form of spectacular cliffs. These cliffs are more than 5 meters high and stretch some 30 meters long, creating a natural border between the beach and the calm waters of the Mediterranean.
The white sand of the beach is framed by limestone cliffs, with rocky coves and inlets creating small secluded beaches around the formation. Around the sandy beach and rocky areas, there are two different types of Mediterranean vegetation. In the rocky area, there are typical Mediterranean shrubs such as yarrow, sea carrot, stonewort and wild rosemary. On the other side, there is a great variety of pines and other trees.
Cala Barques encapsulates all the beauty of the Mediterranean coast, with its unique rock formations, sandy coves and crystal clear waters. Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or a day of outdoor adventure, this beach is the perfect place to enjoy the splendor of Mallorca.

Es pontas
Es Pontas, or "The Needles" in Spanish, is the nickname for the unique rock formation located east of Mallorca, one of the four main Balearic Islands of Spain. Las Agujas rise majestically above the Mediterranean Sea, an impressive display of nature's artistry.
The rocky promontory of Es Pontas has a special significance for Mallorcans, as it is said to represent the legendary Roca Redonda de Mallorca, a huge rock formation located in the middle of the sea. This rock is believed to be the base of the nearby villages of Ses Covetes and Baya des Cape des Vergeras.
Es Pontas is considered a must-see attraction in Mallorca, and visitors to the island flock to its shores to witness this picturesque sight first-hand. It's no wonder, as the tranquil beauty of the Needles and the turquoise, crystal clear water make for a stunning backdrop, perfect for your vacation photographs. The Needles are steep and jagged, extending an impressive 23 meters from the sea floor. Being so close to the rocks, you can clearly see why the name Es Pontas was chosen for this spot: even from a distance, the sharp rocks look like needles and "Pontas" is the Mallorcan word for "needle".
If you want to admire Es Pontas from another point of view, you can take a boat trip from the nearby port of Portocristo. There you can enjoy the relaxing sea breeze and take pictures of the Needles that will make you feel like you are in a postcard.
