Originally known as canapés, small bites or small plates of traditional Spanish food, tapas have the superpower of including all kinds of foods and making them fun and easy to share. When living in Palma or visiting this stunning city, you definitely have to go on a ‘tapas’ tour. And, as usual, we’ll be pleased to tell you where to go! Colmado Hispania
The essence of tapas culture is to be found at Colmado Hispania, a place that reminiscences the look of old groceries stores and where you will immediately feel like home, thanks to its cosy, welcoming décor. With a menu focusing on Spanish tradition, you will be able to taste Spanish tortillas, casseroles & stews, croquettes, fresh salads and ‘pinchos’. Our favourites at this restaurant include ‘Joselito’ pork flank steak and ‘Padron’ peppers, crab au gratin, French fries, eggs & ‘txistorra’ and the cheesecake made in Basque style.

If you’re looking to have ‘tapas’ in a beautiful setting and enjoy the best of Spanish cuisine, ‘La Vermutería’ at the Son Vida restaurant is most definitely the place for you to visit. Arabella Golf’s exclusive golf course of Son Vida is home to this recently renovated place, from where you will be looking onto hole number 18 while having a gastronomic experience like no other. At ‘La Vermutería’ you will be able to pair one of their over 20 types of vermouth, while tasting some of Spain’s best tapas. In addition to an inviting selection of high‑end tapas to share (or not to share!), you will also find taste of the sea, meat dishes and a fun golf corner for a quick bite. 10 out of 10!

Vermutería San Jaime
Vermutería San Jaime is a fun, always buzzing restaurant located on Paseo Mallorca, in the heart of Palma’s city centre. They’re all about traditions and making them fun, meaning you will find the usual Spanish dishes of a tapas restaurant cooked to perfection and melting in your mouth. No question asked, their vermouth, beer and wine selection add to the overall experience. This restaurant is very popular among locals and has become a meeting point to have a fun lunch or dinner out with friends. Some of their musts for us are: ‘ensaladilla’, feira‑style caramelized octopus, steak tartar, Pecorino cheese and truffle tortilla, all of their croquettes and their tuna belly salad. But, to be honest, there’s no right or wrong on the menu, everything is delicious!
