Pedro, the owner, welcomes us warmly and gives us a tour of the restaurant, which is adorned with elegant Thai décor. The open kitchen adds to the Thai ethos of sharing food. As we take our seats and hear about the feast that awaits us, our mouths instantly start watering.

Our culinary journey through Thai cuisine begins with the Isaan Starters – a selection of deep-fried Asian delicacies, including delectable duck-filled samosas. These are beautifully presented alongside the popular papaya salad with sticky rice.

We didn't have to wait long before our noses informed us that the next courses were ready. Out came the 'Kang Kiew Wan', or king prawn green curry as most people know it. The word 'fragrant' is often used when describing Asian cuisine, but to call this curry anything but fragrant would be an understatement. It was bursting with flavors and scents. Accompanying our curry was the 'Piew Wan Khai' (chicken with vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce), and, of course, a traditional Pad Thai. The 'Ped Makham' (crispy duck in tamarind sauce) was another highlight, with a sweet tamarind sauce and a delicate underlying heat that lifted the flavors of the marinade.

What makes Isaan truly unique in Mallorca is its Thai food cooked by a Thai chef. Chef Aiw, with the help of sous-chefs Noo and Jip, brings all the passion and flavors of her home city of Bangkok to create a delicious journey of Thai cuisine.
