Bruselas Steakhouse – verlässliches Steak in Palma
When you suddenly crave a proper steak in Palma, Bruselas is one of those reliable places to keep in mind. The restaurant is run by José Luis and Andrea and is only a few steps from Passeig del Born — convenient after a shopping trip when the bags are heavy and the appetite bigger. The rooms are in an old town house; you go down a few steps and immediately feel a little removed from the hustle and bustle. The menu includes grass-fed beef from Argentina, Galicia and the USA; there are also some Kobe options, a few creative burgers and daily dishes like the menú del día, which is often offered at around €13 at lunchtime. I like the restaurant's small, straightforward character: staff who speak several languages, a compact wine list with a helpful overview, and dishes that don't try to be more complicated than they are. Especially on cooler evenings the atmosphere is cosy; in summer the indoor spaces are a blessing when the old town gets narrower and fuller. In short: solid steaks, pleasant prices and a touch of family behind the stove.

Location & Atmosphere: An Old Town steakhouse

Bruselas sits in a quiet side street, about a 45-second walk from Passeig del Born. You go down a few steps into an old Mallorcan room; it's not luxurious, rather cosy and a bit homely. José Luis and Andrea are often on site, speak English, Spanish and German, and are happy to recommend wines. The tables are arranged to allow a bit of privacy — good for dates or small groups. In winter the place really comes into its own: warm light, muted conversations and the typical sound of a knife on a wooden board.

Wine & Extras: The small but clever wine list

The wine list is concise, with selections from Spain, Mallorca and Argentina. A nice detail: at the end of the list there's a short note with region, grape variety and ratings — useful when you want to decide quickly. Prices are fair for Palma; there are everyday bottles and a few more exciting reds for special evenings. Also: a small service box with buttons you can press when you want the bill or another bottle. No frantic waving across the restaurant, just a discreet service button.

Practical info: Location, prices and reservations

Bruselas is perfectly located if you visit the old town or the shopping street: short walking distances, near a taxi rank and public parking in the area (Antoni Maura zone). There are flexible menus for groups, and if you book for the evening you should reserve on weekends — the restaurant is compact. Prices are transparent: the menú del día costs around €13, and meat dishes are moderately priced for Palma. Tip: If you like wine, ask for José Luis’s recommendations; he knows his list well and is happy to suggest suitable bottles.
