Pollensa entdecken: Geschichte, Charme und einzigartige Attraktionen
Pollensa is one of the most charming towns in northern Mallorca. With its narrow cobblestone streets and the lively atmosphere of its main square, it attracts visitors from all over the world. The town offers a fascinating blend of ancient history and modern life — from Roman bridges to stylish cafés. Here you can experience authentic Mallorca, explore local artisan shops or simply sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.

The History of Pollensa

Pollensa’s past is full of fascinating turns. Evidence of the Talaiots dates back over 3,000 years. The Romans left the famous 'Pont Romà' bridge, which still stands today. Later, the Vandals and Arabs influenced the island, and Arab irrigation systems helped secure agricultural success. From 1229 the Knights Templar occupied the town and supported a period of prosperity with buildings such as the church Nostra Senyora de Angels. Over the centuries Pollensa was attacked and defended several times — in particular the victory against the Moors in 1550 is remembered.
