Übernachten in Sa Torre: Das Finca-Hotel Hilton in Llucmajor
If you’re looking for a hotel on Mallorca that feels like a country house but offers the comfort standards of an international chain, this is a nice mix. Sa Torre sits quietly in the agricultural area near Llucmajor – you immediately notice the character: a stone manor with a 14th-century tower as its centerpiece and several low, whitewashed buildings around it. The property hardly has that large resort vibe; instead you might sit in the morning with a coffee on the courtyard’s cobblestones and hear only birds and the occasional bicycle. The rooms are furnished in a finca style but modern enough for families or couples who value practical things like well-insulated windows and reliable Wi‑Fi. For me the nicest details are the terraces with views over the fields and the short walks to the pool and bar. There is a good spa with a thermal area, several outdoor pools, tennis courts and even a small football pitch – so plenty to keep children and active guests occupied. For beach days it’s not a long journey: about ten minutes by car to the larger sandy beaches. In high season there’s a children’s programme that makes parents noticeably more relaxed. If you travel outside the summer months, the calm is wonderful; pools are quieter, breakfast more relaxed and the area shows its authentic Mallorcan side.

Hilton Sa Torre: tower, finca charm and practical details

I remember my first walk over the cobblestones to the old tower: the stone is still rough, and the shade cools noticeably on hot days. Hilton Sa Torre has around 90 rooms and suites spread across several buildings that follow a typical finca layout. Inside, bright walls, wooden beams and terracotta floors dominate, combined with modern furniture – not overly designy, rather cosy and practical. The Arxiduc restaurant serves a breakfast buffet with a local touch (sometimes with fresh ensaimada and Mallorcan bread); in the evening the tapas and grilled fish dishes are reliable; for a quick snack the Sa Clastra bar offers a relaxed atmosphere. Important for families: the seasonal kids’ club ‘Es Petit Molí’ runs in summer and has activities for 4–12 year-olds, giving parents time for the spa or tennis. Speaking of the spa: ‘Sa Torre Pure Spa’ has a small indoor pool, sauna and a warm thermal zone – very pleasant on cooler days. Active guests use the outdoor pools, the gym, the tennis courts or the grass football pitch. Convenient is the location: about 25 minutes’ drive to Palma and around ten minutes to the nearest sandy beach, so ideal for excursions without the city hustle. A personal tip: head to the small terrace near the tower in the late afternoon when the light turns golden – perfect for a glass of wine and enjoying the peace of the Mallorcan countryside.
