Mallorca is a true paradise for beach lovers. With over 260 beaches, the island offers incredible variety—from small hidden coves to wide sandy beaches with turquoise water. Whether you are planning a relaxing family holiday or looking for a quiet corner to escape everyday life, you will surely find the perfect spot here. While the southeast coast is known for its secluded calas, the north attracts with expansive bays of golden sand. And sometimes the most beautiful places are those you discover by chance, off the beaten path.

Cala Mondragó: A natural paradise on the east coast

Cala Mondragó lies within a nature reserve and offers an impressive backdrop of fine white sand and pine woods stretching to the sea. The bay has two beaches – S’Amarador and Cala Mondragó – both ideal for families with children. There is parking and small snack bars. Arrive early! Tip: Take a walk through the reserve to discover hidden viewpoints.

Es Trenc: Caribbean vibes on Mallorca

Es Trenc is famous for its long stretches of white sand and clear water, reminiscent of Caribbean beaches. The area is more open and can get busy in summer, so plan accordingly. There are limited facilities, which helps preserve its natural character. Tip: Visit early in the morning or late afternoon for a quieter experience.

Playa de Formentor: Postcard-perfect scenery in the north

Playa de Formentor is narrow and lined with pine trees, giving it a charming character. The clear water invites you to swim while boats drift peacefully in the bay. If you drive here, make sure to stop at several viewpoints along the way – the views are spectacular! Alternatively, you can take a boat trip from Puerto Pollença.

Cala Santanyí: Perfect for early risers

Fine white sand and crystal-clear water make Cala Santanyí a favorite among beach lovers in the southeast of Mallorca. If you arrive early, you can secure a spot on the sought-after sun loungers. For the adventurous there are kayaks for rent and the famous natural rock arch nearby – a great photo spot.

Portals Vells: A family favorite with caves

Portals Vells is particularly popular with locals thanks to its fine sandy beaches and the small sea caves right by the water. There are restroom facilities and a charming snack bar for a light bite. In summer many yachts anchor in the sheltered bay – a picturesque sight! Parking is limited, so it’s best to arrive early.

Cala Mesquida: A paradise for surfers

With its open view of the sea, Cala Mesquida is one of the most impressive bays in the northeast of Mallorca. The white sandy areas invite sunbathing, while surfers often find good conditions here. Also visit the viewpoint at the watchtower for unique photo opportunities! There are various facilities such as toilets and snack bars on site.

Playa de Alcudia: Perfect for family holidays

At more than 3 kilometers long, Playa de Alcudia is Mallorca’s longest beach – ideal for families with children thanks to its gently sloping shoreline and numerous water sports options. Along the beach you’ll find restaurants, cafés and shops as well as many hotels for every budget.

Cala Estellencs: Quietness away from the bustle

The small pebble cove of Cala Estellencs is rarely crowded even during high season and offers a peaceful atmosphere away from mass tourism. The rocks are ideal for snorkeling or diving – but bring your own equipment! Our tip: Pack a picnic and enjoy the sunset on the beach.
