Palma College: Jugendliche fit fürs Leben machen
As someone local who knows school life here, it immediately struck me: Palma College is not a typical secondary school. It is a sixth form — a transitional place for 16–18-year-olds who want more responsibility but still need support. Lessons are in English, classes are deliberately kept small (maximum twelve students), and teachers focus on personal support: regular one-to-one meetings, realistic goal setting and help with university application routing. The mix of A Levels and BTEC allows for academic study or practical learning. Especially useful is the enrichment programme with courses like first aid, Mandarin or video editing — things that are really useful later on. International families like the offer: qualifications recognised in the UK, the USA or Asia, combined with a relaxed life in Palma. Anyone who wants a realistic view of growing up should come to the Taster Day, take a look at the atmosphere and talk to students, parents and teachers. A small tip from me: bring questions about the daily routine and campus life — that says a lot.

Palma College – sixth form in central Palma

I visited the last tour in autumn and liked the direct, unpretentious tone: teachers speak to students on an equal footing, and the rooms are simple but functional. Palma College is located on Carrer de Can Verí, right in the centre — you can feel city life, but also the calm when groups go out into the garden. Classes remain small (up to twelve people), so questions don't get lost. The teachers are native speakers experienced in A Level and BTEC curricula; at the same time there is support for the university application process worldwide. A real plus is the personal tutorials, where students work on learning strategies, time management and future plans. The enrichment workshops (first aid, Mandarin, video editing) run in the afternoon and are often led by external specialists — practical because they add real-life skills. Families I spoke to praised the balance of challenge and care: performance is expected, but not at any cost. Anyone interested in an internationally recognised qualification and a manageable, supportive learning environment should keep Palma College on their radar.

New campus from September 2026

Palma College is moving in 2026 to a new city building: more modern classrooms, a small fitness room, a theatre and more communal space are planned. The aim sounds simple but important: learning spaces that better connect daily life and free time. When the campus opens, the outdoor areas will be used for projects outside — ideal for science experiments or theatre rehearsals. For parents this means more room for activities and clearer arrangements for after-school care.

Host Family Boarding Programme 2026

From 2026 the college will offer a host-family option for international students. That means travelling students live with selected local families, gain a home-like feeling and receive daily support. In my experience, trusted host programmes are a big asset: they help with language acquisition, provide cultural orientation and offer stable care structures. Those interested should ask for references early, request insight into house rules and daily routines, and arrange trial stays if needed.
