When I think of Alcanada, the terrace is the first thing that comes to mind: wooden chairs, parasols, the green of the golf course behind you and the sea in front. The restaurant at the clubhouse is not an over-the-top place, but somewhere you consciously slow down to enjoy the view. The menu focuses on light, Mediterranean dishes — salads with fresh vegetables, gazpacho in summer, fried bacalao and small starters that are great for sharing.
It's worth booking early, especially on weekends in spring and autumn when the island is full of day-trippers. In high summer, the early evening hours are the nicest: the sun sets behind Cap Social and the heat eases. Practical: the team speaks several languages, there is parking at the clubhouse and the atmosphere remains pleasantly relaxed — no need to dress up. Bring sunscreen for the way back, because the walk to the lighthouse is nearby and often the best finish to a slow, good meal.
Restaurant Golf Alcanada
The restaurant at the Alcanada clubhouse is a place I visit again and again when I'm in Alcúdia. It sits practically on the coast next to the golf course; the address is Crta. del Faro s/n — you can spot the clubhouse from a distance. Inside it’s pleasantly simple: light wooden tables, a few maritime details and a large terrace that sets the tone in summer.
The kitchen works with seasonal produce; the focus is on light dishes with a Majorcan influence. On my list are always a cool gazpacho to start, a beef carpaccio with good olive oil and citrus notes, and a version of bacalao that isn’t overly salty but balanced with a crisp salad. Vegetarians are well served with changing salads and grilled vegetables, and there are smaller portions for sharing — handy when you’re with several people.
The service team is friendly and relaxed, not forced. They’re happy to explain the dishes, recommend local wines (a Majorcan Chardonnay or a light red from Binissalem often work well) and will find space even when the weekend is busy. Prices are moderate for the location — more upmarket than basic, but fair for quality and the view.
Tip: If you come by car, park at the clubhouse and take ten minutes for the short walk to the nearby cove or the lighthouse. For photographers: the light shortly before sunset is nicest, without everyone risking a ruined outfit from sea spray.

Dishes to try
There are a few dishes I always order or recommend to other guests: a fresh gazpacho with coarsely chopped vegetables, the carpaccio with lemon oil, and the various bacalao preparations — whether fried or in a light tomato sauce. A surprising but pleasant starter is a liver pâté terrine served with sweet fig compote and crunchy bread.
For mains I prefer fish dishes in summer and stews or slowly braised vegetables in the cooler season. Portions are sized so you usually still have room for a small dessert — a slice of homemade almond cake or a light lemon cream are typical finishes.
Drink tip: a glass of local white wine, dry and with fresh acidity, lifts the flavors. There are also some regional beers and a small but sensible selection of digestifs.
Practical information
Opening hours vary by season; in summer the restaurant usually opens for lunch and stays open for dinner into the early night. Reserving is recommended on weekends, especially if you want to sit outside.
Getting there: the road is called Crta. del Faro and the clubhouse is well signposted — parking is available on site. The team speaks several languages, including English and German, which makes ordering easier.
Dress code is casual: shorts, shirt, summer dress are all fine. For special occasions call ahead and the team will often reserve a nicer table. Credit cards are accepted; pets are usually welcome on the terrace as long as they are calm.
Contact: the restaurant's website offers current menus and phone numbers; a quick call often clears up everything from allergies to parking questions.
