Son Corb: Ruhige Finca-Oase an Mallorcas Ostküste
When I think of Son Corb, the first thing that comes to mind is the smell of pine and damp earth. The hotel is located on an old estate, just a few kilometres from the busier Cala Bona, and feels like a small village. There are wide, quiet paths across 30 hectares of land, a large pool and corners with olive trees where you can read in peace or take an afternoon nap. The rooms are cozy, not overdone, and often furnished with local fabrics and simple wooden furniture. For us locals, Son Corb is a place where the low season is especially appreciated: soft light, empty beaches in Cala Millor and the possibility to listen to the rooster from the nearby farm in the morning. Golfers appreciate the proximity to Pula and Son Servera Golf, families like the short distances to coves with shallow water. If you're looking for tranquility but still want to reach a nice restaurant in the evening, Son Corb is a good choice. The staff often speak several languages; friendly, relaxed and unpretentious.

Son Corb Boutique Hotel – the finca itself

The former manor house finca is the centerpiece: low stone buildings, enchanted gardens and terraces overlooking pine woods. The 20–30 rooms are spread over several buildings, some with a small patio, others with views of the pool area. It feels like visiting friends – not expensive design, but small handcrafted details: woven blankets, ceramic vases and local art on the walls. In the mornings there is a simple breakfast buffet with freshly baked bread, local olives and cheese; in the afternoons the staff occasionally serve homemade ensaimadas. Those seeking quiet go to the pool early or walk along the country paths to watch the sunset. For golfers it's only ten minutes to Pula Golf, and Cala Bona is reachable in five minutes by car.

Location & beaches – where the island becomes quieter

Food, pool & relaxed moments

The culinary offer is uncomplicated and honest. Local products dominate: tomato dishes, grilled fish, Mallorcan sobrasada for breakfast or as tapas. The pool area is generous, with loungers under straw roofs and some shaded spots for lunch outdoors. In the evenings guests like to sit on the terrace with a bottle of Mallorcan wine and a plate of shared tapas. If you like local markets: Son Servera has a small weekly market (Tuesday) where you can buy olives, honey and seasonal vegetables directly from the producer.

Excursions & activities – what I recommend locally

From Son Corb excursions are easy to plan: a morning at Pula Golf, a bike tour through the pine forests or a beach day in Cala Millor. I particularly like the short drive to the coastal promenade of Punta de n’Amer for a bit of history and a view. For families a boat trip to smaller coves is a relaxed alternative to the beach; you can often hire local skippers by the hour. It's also worth visiting the church of Sant Joan in Son Servera – an unusual ongoing building project you won't find everywhere on the island.
