When the pines around Caimari cool down and the air smells of roasted fennel and citrus, it’s time to visit Mirabona at Finca Ca’n Beneït. I’ve been there several times, in autumn and in the deep winter, and what always remains is a pleasant mix of rustic comfort and attentive cooking. In the evening the fire crackles in the salón, the plates are small and precisely arranged, and you can tell at once that much comes from their own vegetable garden. For Christmas the chefs compose special menus — from delicate cod with fennel broth to heartier lamb dishes, and always a vegetarian option with seasonal vegetables. The house does not feel like a hotel, but like a well-kept country home where someone has been welcoming guests for years. If you’re looking for a quiet festive dinner away from the big tourist centers, with views of the Tramuntana and without fuss, Mirabona is a reliable choice. Good idea: reserve early (December fills up quickly), pack a jacket for the evening walk and leave room for dessert.
Address: Camí de Binibona s/n, 07314 Binibona (Caimari).
Mirabona at Finca Ca’n Beneït
Mirabona sits quietly on an old finca among olive trees and terraces, about 15 minutes from Caimari. The house feels like something out of a family album: low light, thick wooden beams and a few sofas where guests linger after dinner. The kitchen works regionally — much from its own garden, a handful of small producers from the area and sometimes a few fish from the market in Pollença. During Advent Mirabona offers special menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. I found it particularly charming how the menu included small surprises: a cup of warming broth as an intermediate course, a portion of mildly marinated carrots with marjoram and a simple, very aromatic almond dessert.
The style is unpretentious: no long table announcements, but good products and the usual friendly service. The restaurant is ideal for couples — a window table with mountain views is my personal favorite; the atmosphere is best from around 19:30. Family celebrations also work well if you give prior notice; the team can easily arrange a larger menu and plan alternatives for children. Languages: staff usually speak Spanish, English and some German — so don’t worry about bookings.
If you drive there: the access road is narrow, drive slowly and enjoy the last kilometer through olive groves. Bring sturdy shoes in case you want to walk up to the finca terrace after dinner — the starry sky there is a real bonus on clear winter evenings.

Exploring the finca and its surroundings
The location of Mirabona is one of the reasons people come here in the cooler season. Ca’n Beneït lies on the edge of Binibona, surrounded by terraced fields, pines and the silhouette of the Tramuntana. In the mornings it’s worth taking a walk on the small paths around the finca; you often meet locals with dogs or older farmers working in the fields.
Only a ten-minute drive away is Caimari with a small weekly market (typically on Saturdays), where you can buy oil, cheese and handcrafted specialties. If you drive a little further, you reach small mountain villages like Mancor de la Vall — perfect for a late lunch or an espresso after the market. The combination of quiet countryside and short excursions into villages makes the stay particularly relaxing.
Practical information: Reservations, arrival & tips
Reserve early, especially for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Places in the season are limited and many guests want a window with a mountain view. Booking by phone or email works well; I’ve had good experiences with clear details: desired time, number of guests and any special dietary requests.
Arrival: the access road is rural, GPS helps, but the last hundred meters are winding. Parking is available but not vast. Dress: smart-casual; in winter a light jacket is advisable for the walk to the terrace. Price range: festive menus are in the higher range, regular dinners are moderately more expensive than city restaurants, which reflects the quality and the location.
