Beerstreet Boys: Ballermann Acts Launch Schlager Boy Band on Mallorca

A quartet of well-known Ballermann acts aims to winkingly re-energize schlager. On Playa de Palma they experiment with how much tradition and how much party fit together.

Ballermann Meets Schlager: New Project with a Wink

On Playa de Palma, one has seen many combinations, but this one is new: under the name Beerstreet Boys, several well-known party singers gather, who instead of beer stages now try a schlager-pop mix. No, not a serious revival of the 70s — more a cheeky blend of emotion, fairground melody, and sing-along moments.

Who’s behind it?

Joining are scene heavyweights such as Ikke Hüftgold and Julian Sommer, along with the charismatic Honk! and the experienced singer Roxy — recently seen more often on TikTok. It feels like “fun first,” but behind it there's work: studio recordings, choreographies, and one or two re-recordings of an old earworm.

Their first joint track is titled “Und ab dafür” — a title that seems to shout party more than quiet togetherness. Still, they apparently aim to bridge to classic schlager: catchy refrains, melodramatic lines, and the promise of “love to the end of the world” — just with a beer mug in hand.

Intention or Provocation?

The group openly says they want to provoke and reach a larger audience at the same time. A clear goal: an invitation to a major TV show. Whether you call that clever marketing or ironic pop culture depends on taste. In any case, the project provides talking points in the Bierkönig and Schinkenstraße scene, where such ideas are gladly welcomed aloud — or booed loudly.

In the coming weeks, anyone strolling through the party zone will surely hear the new song in the background: while warming up before the concert, during the entrance of the next tourist delegation, or at the after-party when the lights are already fading. Whether the Beerstreet Boys will bring schlager fans back to the bar or mainly fill social-media timelines remains to be seen.

I personally find it amusing. Mallorca lives on such surprises: people reinvent themselves, songs you can sing along to loudly, and evenings you remember at least in fragments. And if, in the end, a few young people rediscover a classic schlager motif — that would also be a small victory for the island's culture.
