Why were some new ambulances in Mallorca put into service with parts removed?
Some of the new patient transport vehicles had to be modified because their full weight meant a different driving licence class was needed. To make them usable sooner, parts such as a bench and, on some vehicles, a hydraulic loading platform were removed. The result is a temporary solution that allows the ambulances to operate while the staffing issue is still being addressed.
