After Major Partners Exit: Palma Rewrites the Rules for the Waterbus

Answer

How will the Palma waterbus concession affect costs and fees?

The concession runs for 15 years and will be awarded to a single operator. The rigid minimum revenue guarantee is removed and replaced by a 4% levy on actual revenue. At the same time, the annual usage fee rises from €23,060.24 to €41,308.90 (excl. VAT), and the required credit guarantee grows from €300,000 to €1,000,000. The route network also expands from three to four lines, with capacity and environmental criteria playing a larger role in the evaluation.
