Answer

What is the V-16 warning light and when does it replace the warning triangle in Mallorca?

From 1 January 2026, Spain will replace the warning triangle with the V-16 warning light for vehicles registered in Spain. The device is placed on the roof and flashes all around to make a stopped car easier to see, which is especially relevant on Mallorca’s busy roads and at night. Only DGT-approved devices are valid.
