What Happens to Original Building Materials During Demolition in Mallorca

When a building is demolished in Mallorca, the original bricks, wood and other historic materials are usually lost unless they are carefully documented or salvaged. Even with a careful reconstruction plan, those materials and the patina they carried cannot be recreated exactly. That is one reason heritage groups argue for preservation before demolition starts.
