When dinner turns into a small production
\nAnyone who has sought island vacations with a touch of luxury in recent months will increasingly come across a name: Metus Gourmet. The chef behind it, Metus Mustafa, went freelance with a private chef service in April and has since cooked in villas, on yachts, and for small private events â mostly around Capdepera, but further afield as well.
\n\nWhat he does differently
\nIt's not just about good food, but the whole experience: menus are tailored to individuals, shopping lists and organization are handled by the team, plates and even a personal fridge are brought along. It sounds almost too convenient to be trueâand that's exactly why it's popular with guests who want to vacation without constantly having to shop.
\n\nMetus works with local products, uses seasonal vegetables, and enjoys capturing Mediterranean flavors. He puts traditional ingredients like sobrasada or Mallorcan herbs into contemporary dishes. On request there are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free variants â all handmade and nicely presented.
\n\nPaella, Grill and Private Dinners
\nA crowd favorite is the Paella live shows: the pan is heated outdoors, the aroma drifts across the property, and the mood is instantly relaxed. For meat lovers there is the Gourmet Grill with high-quality cuts, for connoisseurs the classic private dinner with several courses and wine pairing. If you like, you can book the chef for several days â breakfast, lunch, dinner, as desired.
\n\nI once experienced him on a balmy evening on a terrace at Cala Mesquida: three courses, the sound of the sea in the background, and the sense that everything was just right. Such evenings stay with youâbecause they work without rushing.
