Starting October 6, vaccinations for preschool children at schools will begin. Starting October 13, all at-risk groups will be eligible—around 277,000 doses are available on the island.

Flu Vaccination Campaign 2025/26 on Mallorca: What's Important Now

\n

The island is preparing for the new flu season. Starting next Monday, October 6, vaccinations for preschool-aged children will be offered at all schools. For many parents it's a date they've already marked in the calendar—and for others a reminder to finally speak with their GP.

Who gets the vaccine first?

\n

In the first days, the focus is clearly on the youngest: kindergartens and preschools are the first contact points. A week later, from October 13, all so-called at-risk groups can book appointments: older people, chronically ill, pregnant women, as well as workers in the health and care sectors. The health network on Mallorca has prepared almost 277,000 vaccine doses — enough to cover many of the vulnerable people.

\n

How and where can you register?

\n

Registration runs through the familiar channels: InfoSalut Connecta, the patient portal on the Internet, or directly at the respective health center. If you prefer to call by phone, you can also reserve an appointment there. A tip from home: have your health card ready — it saves time.

\n

Locally, at the health centers in Palma, Inca, or Manacor, I have already seen signs in recent days: opening hours, instructions on documentation and short FAQs. It is strongly recommended to get vaccinated early — not only when the flu wave is already underway.

What you should know besides

\n

The campaign is aimed especially at people with increased risk, but it's also practical for families: when the little ones are vaccinated, it often eases daily life at the nursery and at home. And yes, I know some people are still waiting to see — but in the queues in front of health centers one could see mostly older neighbors who were glad about the offer.

\n

In short: appointments from October 6 for preschoolers, from October 13 for at-risk groups. If you're unsure, ask your own general practitioner or the nearest Centro de Salud. In Mallorca, the vaccination should be straightforward and easily accessible — and that's basically the most important message in these weeks.

\n

Practical: appointment via InfoSalut Connecta, the patient portal, or the health center. Bring your card. And if you know someone who needs help booking: offering help is worthwhile.
