Don't Spend a Cent: Practical Free Services at Palma Airport Everyone Should Know

Flights are expensive and extras are unnecessary — at Palma Airport there are surprisingly many free services: refill your water bottle, free Wi‑Fi, charging points and even a piano in Terminal C.

Why pay extra when you don't have to fly?

We all know it: a bottle of water from a machine costs €1.50, your phone is half empty and the network isn't cooperating. But not everything at Palma Airport is a rip‑off. If you know where to go, you'll save money and nerves. I was at the terminal last week, it was windy, and I tried some of these little helpers — here are my tips, practical and without jargon.

Drinking water: refill your bottle instead of buying

Surprisingly true: there are several water dispensers throughout the terminal. Just bring your own bottle, line up and fill it. Ideal before a long‑haul flight — or if you land at 6 a.m. and the cafés are still closed. Not a cent, no thirst.

Free Wi‑Fi without registration

The network is usually called Aena‑Wifi and works surprisingly reliably. No long forms, no phone‑number exchange — turn on Wi‑Fi, connect and carry on. Perfect for quickly checking email or boarding times without burning your mobile data.

Charging stations for phones and laptops

Frequent visitors know the charging options at the gates. Especially at the small work islands there are sockets and USB ports, often enough for a quick boost. Tip: sockets at Gate B and in the waiting areas near the windows are often free — no reservation needed.

A piano in Terminal C — music to beat boredom

This is my personal favourite: a piano stands in the rear area of Terminal C that anyone can use. When someone plays, a small audience quickly gathers. Sometimes a real atmosphere develops, especially when flights are delayed. Small bonus: it distracts, lifts your mood and costs practically nothing — just a few minutes of your time.

In short: If you bring your water bottle, log into Aena‑Wifi, look out for charging stations and give the piano in Terminal C a chance, you'll pass through the airport with fewer expenses and more stories. Not spectacular. Rather useful. And honestly: exactly what you need on the go.

If you have another tip from the airport — write it in. I'll try the water dispenser at Gate A next time — rumor has it it's particularly strong. Or was that just coffee‑ground reading?
