MegaPark in Playa de Palma was honored with an international triple certification â a success for safety, noise protection, and service.
Why now is a reason to be amazed
Yesterday evening I was strolling along Playa de Palma, and the air still smelled of fried tapas and the sea breeze. No wonder the news spread quickly here: MegaPark has received an international triple certification. For everyone who knows the long summer evenings here, it feels like a knightâs endorsement â but also like confirmation that something has changed.
What exactly was awarded?
Inspectors from the International Nightlife Association awarded MegaPark a package of three quality seals. In short: it's about Safety, Noise protection and Service Quality connected to sustainable operations. Such audits require technical evidence, measurement protocols, and operational processes â not just pretty promises on paper.
Interesting for the island: only two venues on Mallorca carry this international quality mark, alongside MegaPark also BCM. Worldwide there are a little more than twenty venues â from Ibiza to Dubai â that hold the same recognition.
Why this matters for Playa de Palma
MegaPark has been part of the coastline image for almost 25 years. Those who grew up here remember the beer garden atmosphere, which later was combined with large stages, light shows, and international acts. The new award is not a vanity prize: it signals that you care about the neighborhood (noise protection!), protect guests, and run the operation professionally.
That has consequences: better planning for staff, clearer procedures for large events, and an argument why visitors travel even outside the high season. Especially the autumn event weeks, such as the announced Closing Party from October 23 to 26, will benefit from it.
A little feeling of home
I know round-table discussions on the promenade, where noise and party tourism are debated. Such certificates help to rationalize the discussion â if the measures are truly implemented. The management emphasizes that the award is the result of years of work: technology, staff training, and organizational processes work together.
In the end, a practical outcome remains for the island: a venue that is internationally recognized, stabilizes jobs, and hopefully helps keep Playa de Palma attractive year-round. And yes, for many locals it is simply nice to see that something that grew here is now recognized on a big stage.
Note: The International Nightlife Association works with strict standards; the award is granted after technical examinations and audits and is considered one of the most demanding in the leisure and nightlife sector.
