The first week of October brings changeable days: sun mixed with heavy showers. If you're outdoors, bring rain gear.
Regular sun, but also showers – this is how the week starts on Mallorca
\nThe island will remain in unsettled conditions over the coming days. In the morning the sun still shines, in the afternoon dense clouds often roll in and bring locally heavy showers. I watched the sky from Passeig Mallorca with a coffee – the clouds today look as if they could break at any moment.
\nWhy this is so: An area of low pressure over the southeastern mainland sends humid air here. Depending on wind conditions – usually from the south to southwest – these showers reach Mallorca as well, sometimes with heavy rain.

\nThe morning starts friendly, but as the day goes on the clouds become denser. In the afternoon, isolated showers are possible; locally larger rainfall amounts can accumulate. Temperatures rise to around 28 °C, nights hardly fall below 20 °C. The wind blows light to moderate from the south.

\nTuesday remains unsettled as well: In the first half of the day, especially in the west and in the mountains, stronger showers are likely. In the afternoon it eases in places, allowing sunny intervals to return. The highs are 25–27 °C, particularly in the island's center. We feel southwestern winds.
\nPractical tip: Pack a small, sturdy umbrella. And yes, flip-flops are comfortable, but closed footwear helps a lot against puddles. If you visit mountain villages or monasteries, bring a light sweater in the evening – it cools down noticeably.
\nCurrently there are no official warnings from the weather authority Aemet for Mallorca (as of Sunday noon). Nevertheless, a quick glance at the forecast before trips is worthwhile, as thunderstorms and heavy showers can vary locally.
\nIn the short term, roads and paths, especially in low-lying areas, can be wet and slippery. Cyclists and pedestrians should pay particular attention to wet cobblestone sections in old towns like Palma.
\nMy impression from today’s walk: the air smells of sea and wet asphalt, the temperature remains pleasant – it’s more a late-summer splash than a real autumn shock. Still: better to set off prepared than to return soaked.
\nOutlook: The week remains unsettled. Rain and isolated thunderstorms can occur again, but there are also sunny spells in between. Those who plan flexibly can still be out and about – with rain protection.
