Autumnal Calm in Port d'Andratx: Rain, East Wind and Espresso Scent on 5 October 2025
Cool air, a few brisk showers and the familiar scent of wet stone and espresso: On 5 October Port d'Andratx shows its mild autumn side — ideal for walkers, not for sun-seekers.
A quiet autumn day in the harbor
On the morning of 5 October a different mood hangs over Port d'Andratx: Between Sun and Drizzle — a Mallorcan October Day: no shimmering heat, but a fresh, damp scent of wet stone and strong espresso as you pass the cafés on the paseo. Around 08:00 the first grey bands appeared, short showers erased the last late-summer heat pockets and left the harbor promenade pleasantly empty. The boats now rock more slowly, and some café owners have left the parasols up more out of habit than necessity.
Temperatures: pleasant, but with an autumn feel
The values remain moderate: at night it was around 19 °C, during the day the thermometer climbs to a maximum of about 23 °C. In the morning it feels mild at 21–22 °C, in the afternoon the temperature drops slightly toward 20 °C. If you sit on the pier in the evening, plan for a thin jacket — around 22:00 about 19 °C are expected. East wind brings a fresh breeze
A persistent, light to moderate wind from the east provides a draft. On average it blows at about 8 m/s, with occasional gusts that whistle through the street cafés and carry the scent of the sea into the alleys. The air pressure is stable around 1021 hPa, the humidity remains noticeable at around 65 %, but it doesn't feel oppressively muggy — more creamy, you might say.
Clouds and showers: short, fresh, no drama
The sky is mostly overcast, about three quarters covered with clouds. The chance of rain is about 20 %, which in practice means short but refreshing showers. The highest shower risk is expected around midday; afterwards the clouds will break up in places and show patches of blue. A classic Mediterranean climate — Wikipedia autumn mix: distinct, but not continuous rain.
Tips from the village
Locals have simple rules for a day like this: tuck a light hooded jacket into your bag, park so you don't end up in a puddle (Calle Vista Mar currently has a few particularly stubborn collection spots), and take your coffee to go if you want to stroll — terraces can get briefly wet. The fishermen on the quay smile at the seasonal fluctuations and say the nets like variety. The seagulls continue to cry their songs, unimpressed by the weather.
For walkers this is currently the best time: fewer tourists, a clearer view across the bay after a shower and the coastal colours stand out more vividly against the muted sky. For sunbathers with a towel it is less ideal today, but the harbor offers an especially relaxed, slightly melancholic atmosphere — exactly what many of us love about Mallorca — Wikipedia in autumn.
In short: a day with an autumnal touch, pleasant freshness and the quiet promise that the island is slowly settling into the quieter season. Best: stroll slowly, grab an espresso to take away and watch the changing sky.
