After heavy showers and flight delays, the sky over Mallorca clears. This week, we expect noticeably more sun and temperatures around 30 °C in some places.
The sky clears up – relief after the heavy rains
You can feel it in the streets: moods are rising. After the violent thunderstorms of the past days, residents and visitors breathe a sigh of relief. By Tuesday noon, the mood hovered somewhere between drying laundry on the balcony and the cautious attempt to enjoy a cappuccino outdoors again. Morning flight delays at the airport still tested patience, but the weather situation is visibly calming down.
What the coming days will bring
The middle of the week will bring a mix of cloud patches and sunny spells. In Palma, meteorologists forecast highs around 26–27 °C, while places like Campos or Llucmajor will often see only about a degree less. If you want to take a stroll along the harbor in the afternoon: that is possible again, without fearing soaked sneakers.
Friday could bring brief showers in the island's center – nothing that ruins a whole day, more these typically Mallorcan short showers that vanish after about a quarter of an hour. After that, however, the probability of a warmer phase increases.
Beach weather this weekend?
Good news for beach towels and ice cream sellers: on Saturday values around 28–31 °C are possible at several spots on the island. Especially in the north, around Pollença and Alcúdia, thermometers could show higher numbers, while Palma and Llucmajor are likely to stay just under 30 °C.
On Sunday it will then probably be a bit cooler – a normal transition into October. Temperatures settle around about 25 °C. Perfect if you want to jog in the morning and take a siesta in the afternoon.
What to consider now
Humidity in soils and forests is elevated. Morning walks in the mountains? Poorly lit paths can still be muddy. If you plan to go cycling on the weekend, choose better tires and check the weather the night before.
For travelers: If your flight is delayed, keep an eye on the airline's information. Local buses and ferries have largely returned to normal.
A bit of local flavor
In the café on Passeig Mallorca they were dining outside again yesterday. Regulars grinned, wore sandals and the same sunglasses as in summer. An older woman dryly remarked: “Finally some sun again – and my flowers thank it.” Such everyday moments often say more about the weather than numbers on a chart.
All in all: the bad days are receding. If you now decisively pack away the sun umbrella, you have a good chance of a few late-summer hours ahead.
