Sóller on September 9, 2025: Rain, Wind and Mild Temperatures

For Sóller, September 9 will be wet: expected showers, gusty winds and temperatures around 19-23°C. Tips for the day and local notes.

Rainy day in Sóller - what we saw this morning on the Plaza

Early this morning around 7:30 a.m., the first drops began to patter on the paving stones of Plaça de sa Constitució. Pedestrians with brightly colored umbrellas, the corner cafe already half empty - that’s how a wet day begins here in the valley. The rain is not warm, but it is steady: if you have a longer walk ahead, you should better wear rubber boots or sturdy shoes.

Temperatures throughout the day

Mild values are expected: the morning starts at around 22 °C, the day's high is just above that at about 23 °C. In the afternoon it cools noticeably; toward the evening values are around 19 °C, at night it may still be around 19 °C. In short: no heatwave, rather fresh September air with a damp touch.

Wind, humidity and what it feels like

The wind blows from the southeast and brings gusts that are locally noticeably stronger - quite typical for the Tramuntana foothills when low pressure moves over the island. The humidity is high, so the air often feels cooler than the thermometer indicates. A thin rain poncho often isn’t enough, but nobody needs gloves (fortunately).

For boaters and small excursion operators: caution in the morning. The small docking area at Port de Sóller already shows wet docks and occasional mooring knots that should be secured.

Practical tips for the day

  • If you are arriving by train from Palma: allow plenty of time, there are delays today due to moisture on the rails.
  • Cyclists: downhill sections are slippery — go slowly or dismount.
  • For local shopping: the market hall is open today, and coffee indoors tastes even better in the rain.

In the evening the rain could ease, but according to current model runs the situation remains changeable. We’ll keep monitoring and report if roads are closed or river levels become critical. If you’re out and about: be careful, listen to the municipality's announcements, and don't wait to take cover until you’re already wet.
