Severe incident in Bendinat: Police seeking witnesses

In the early evening of September 21, an exit from the Bendinat urbanization got out of control. According to the affected women — a mother and her daughter — their car was rammed several times at the junction beside the small supermarket and the gas station by a gray-painted Seat León. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 20:15, when the street lights were on and the air was dry.

The women report: They were driving from the parking lot toward Portals Nous, stopped, and assessed the traffic as unproblematic. Suddenly the Seat sped up and rammed the rear of their car several times. "It came so fast, as if he had a plan," says the daughter, who does not want her name published out of fear.

Flight, threats and apparently targeted attempt

When the mother got out, there was, according to witnesses, an exchange of words; the man jumped out of his car and yelled loudly. When the daughter tried to photograph the license plate, the driver reversed — and then accelerated in such a way that one of the girls only avoided injury by jumping to the side. After that, the driver drove away at high speed.

Rescuers and police were quick to arrive. The daughter was taken to hospital with neck problems and a shock and stayed there for two days. The mother suffers from whiplash and is treated on an outpatient basis. Both women wish to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals.

The Guardia Civil in Calvià is now investigating on charges of battery and dangerous driving. They especially ask anyone who was near the Repsol gas station or the Eroski market at the relevant time to come forward. Tips can be submitted via police stations or through the Guardia Civil's social channels.

Such scenes are especially incendiary here, in this otherwise quiet corner. A resident who only gave his first name said: "One hears honking often, but I have never seen anything like this." If you saw something or have dashcam footage, please report it — even small details help with the clarification.
