Quick summary: From today until Thursday many films are showing across Mallorca for just €3.50. In Palma, Ocimax, CineCiutat and Sala Rívoli are among the participants.
Affordable movie nights — Cinema Days are back
If you're wandering through Palma today and feel like seeing a film this evening, there's reason to be happy: the Fiesta del Cine is once again bringing reduced tickets to many cinemas across Spain — including Mallorca. From November 3 to 6, numerous screenings are available for just €3.50. Sounds like a good plan for rainy evenings or for groups deciding on the spur of the moment.
Which cinemas are taking part
Several venues in Palma are participating. I popped by Ocimax briefly today: the queue was manageable and the smell of freshly made popcorn was in the air. Also on the list are CineCiutat, the small cosy Sala Rívoli, and the cinemas in the Porto Pi and FAN shopping centres. So there are both large multiplex programmes and smaller art-house cinemas with surprises.
How to get your ticket
Tickets are available online as well as at the box office. If you want to be safe, it's better to reserve a seat in advance — especially evening shows, as popular titles can sell out quickly. I asked a cinema employee on site: special screenings are often just as comfortable as regular sessions, just cheaper.
For families, couples and bargain hunters this is a great opportunity to try something new: a small movie night costs only a little more than a snack. And yes, if you like, you can grab a coffee afterwards in the old town — Palma is conveniently just around the corner.
What to watch out for
A quick note on scheduling: not every venue shows every film at every time. If you're looking for specific screenings or original-language versions, check the schedules in advance. Individual cinemas may also offer special promotions (like loyalty points or combo deals with popcorn) — it's worth comparing.
In short: the Fiesta del Cine is back and offers a cheap chance to slip into a cinema seat — whether it's a big blockbuster or a smaller hidden gem. If you're spontaneous today: mark it down, secure a ticket and enjoy the show. Find all details on the participating cinemas' websites and the Fiesta del Cine event page.
