Haute Nuit in Puerto Portals: A Warm Night Between Catwalk and Sea
Fashion, sea breeze and a feeling of summer that just won't end
In the early evening, as the sun slowly set over the small island Illa d’en Salas, the Lobster Club in Puerto Portals Lights, Runway, Sea: Pink Panther Evening at the Lobster Club in Puerto Portals filled with around 70 invited guests. Hosts Yvonne Struzek and Felix Wille had once again called for the "Haute Nuit," the third edition of their gathering for fashion enthusiasts, collectors and friends of the Pink Panthers Collectors Club. Instead of harsh flash photography there was relaxed conversation, the clinking of glasses and the gentle surf from the harbor – the soundscape that accompanies many evenings on Mallorca.
For the night the beach club was transformed into a catwalk, a concept also seen nearby at Runway on the Quay: Janina's Boutique Restaurant in Puerto Portals. Between the glass edge of the infinity pool and the Balinese daybeds, models presented coats, scarves and evening dresses intended for the colder season but designed with a Mediterranean sensibility for cut and fabric. Natural, gray and earth tones played a major role, with pastel shades providing smaller accents. What mattered to the exhibitors was not just color but how the clothes express personality – clean cuts, high-quality materials and a calm luxury that does not shout.
The event was hosted by two familiar voices from public events: Bozena Gina Bretag from Düsseldorf and former TV presenter Jana Azizi. Azizi was not only the presenter but also appeared that evening as a representative of a real estate firm and said she was wearing a silk dress by Oud Paris. Such details set the tone of the evening: a mix of fashion interest, networking and cultivated socializing.
Among the guests were entrepreneurs, real estate professionals and well-known faces from German TV formats. Table conversations ranged from design topics to memories of past summers on the playa. A particularly warm reception was given to a former sports presenter who appeared in public for the first time after a long illness; many welcomed his presence with heartfelt gestures.
Musically, DJ Alberto Rosello provided an elegant backdrop, with familiar Bond motifs heard at times, while there was always room for conversation or enjoying a cocktail by the water. On the culinary side, the hosts relied on high quality: top chef Sascha Lenz and starred chef Phillip Schneider created canapés with caviar, Balik salmon and sturgeon fillet as well as a sophisticated dish with peach, almond vinaigrette and artichoke cream. To finish there was a specially developed dessert that played with a tart apple note – a small surprise for the palate.
Sponsors included local and international partners: a specialist dermatologist as the main partner, companies from the yacht and lifestyle sectors, a hotel representation and technology providers discussing artificial intelligence, illustrated in other local events such as Glamour at the Marina: Marcel Remus' Lifestyle Night Gives Port Adriano a Glow. Such partnerships demonstrate how closely culture, tourism and business on Mallorca have become intertwined.
What remains of an evening like this for the island? It is more than a society event: it is a stage for local service providers, a shop window for fashion makers and a meeting place for people who see Mallorca not only as a holiday destination but as a place to live. The images of the glittering pool, the sound of dusk and the conversations along the paseo around the harbor are small everyday details that together add to the island's appeal. For the catering, hotel and fashion industries, evenings like this are welcome impulses, new contacts and inspiration for the coming winter.
And because summer on Mallorca sometimes simply likes to linger: the organizers have already announced a next edition for May 2027. Those who stroll again over the wooden runway and gaze at the sea may bring a new collection or a new idea – and Mallorca will once again have an evening when life at the harbor tastes particularly good, just as at other harbour celebrations such as Ritzi turns 20: A Harbour Evening of Champagne, Sea Air and Old Friends.
