The contract for the work was awarded in spring to the company Citanias Obras y Servicios SLE. The total sum is 545,853 euros including VAT, and the planned construction period is seven months. For residents this means: soon a significantly more comfortable and safer connection to the promenade.

The demand for a better connection did not come as a surprise. Residents of El Terreno and Marítim have long complained that access to the Quarentena park area and the Passeig Marítim is cumbersome. Parents pushing strollers, older people or people with mobility limitations often had to cope with stairs or take detours. The new facility is therefore primarily a step toward everyday mobility.
