During a quad trip in Andratx, a rental vehicle collided with a car parked at the roadside. A female tourist reported pain but later declined medical help.

Accident on the connecting road between s'ArracĂł and Andratx

On Friday afternoon around 4:30 p.m., an accident occurred on the Carrer de Pedro Pujol when a rented quad collided with a car parked at the roadside. The people involved belonged to a small group of tourists exploring the area with the off-road vehicles.

Tourist from the USA reports pain

According to the local police, a young woman from the USA injured her arm. She reported severe pain on site but later declined medical treatment — apparently after her companions had calmed her down. The parked car sustained a noticeable dent, passersby heard the loud bang and went to the scene.

What locals say

Residents who later spoke with the police were not surprised: quad tours have been present in the area for years. The vehicles often travel very fast here, and the riders are not always skilled, said a woman living near Carrer de Libertat. Complaints about noise and safety risk are a recurring topic in cafes and at the weekly market.

The local police of Andratx recorded the incident and prepared a collision report. Whether the ride was accompanied by an organized rental company or whether it involved a private group is still under investigation. Such accidents with rental quads are not uncommon on Mallorca — especially at the end of the season when many excursion groups are on the road.

A call to tourists and landlords

A staff member of a local rental shop I briefly met reminded that protective clothing, instruction, and consideration for parked vehicles should be mandatory. The worker said that a brief briefing is often enough to prevent accidents. For residents, there remains hope that future checks will be stricter — both regarding speed and behavior in residential areas.

Investigations are ongoing; the police will reveal further details in the coming days.
