Santa Ponsa on September 27: Mild, cloudy and ready for walks
A wide band of clouds makes the sky dramatic but brings no rain. At around 24 °C during the day, Santa Ponsa is ideal today for promenade coffee, beach walks and a bit of sea-view meditation.
Autumn-mild: Santa Ponsa shows its relaxed side
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Santa Ponsa is a nice example of how gentle autumn on Mallorca can be: clouds, yes, but no wet surprises (see Santa Ponsa: Warm, cloudy — and made for walking). A broad band stretches across the bay and creates dramatic light effects in the morning — ideal motifs for quick phone-camera moments. You can safely leave umbrellas at home; a light sun hat or sunglasses are more practical today.
Temperatures: autumnal but pleasant
The measurement in the morning at about 06:15 showed 16.8 °C. During the day the thermometer climbs to just under 24 °C, the warmest phase is expected to be between 13:30 and 15:00. In the evening it cools hardly at all — around 21:00 values are still about 22–22.5 °C. No need for heavy jackets, but a light cardigan in the evening is a nice idea, especially if you sit on the promenade and feel the sea breeze.
How the weather feels
The felt temperature matches the measurements well: in the morning about 20–21 °C, during the day around 23–24 °C. No oppressive heat, no cold shock — ideal for a coffee on the Passeig de la Platja or a leisurely beach walk (see Santa Ponsa: Moderately cloudy but still beach-worthy on 21 September). The seagulls cry, it smells of salt water and pine needles, and the characteristic clatter of folding deckchairs is absent today.
Pressure, humidity and wind
Pressure is stable at around 1020 hPa, humidity at about 60 %. The wind is weak to moderate from SSW (roughly 196°) with an average speed of 4.7 m/s and gusts around 5.3 m/s. That's enough to nicely sweep the clouds across the bay — deckchairs won't be carried away, but a light breeze provides pleasant cooling.
If you walk along the Passeig de la Platja this morning, watch the play of light between the clouds — around 09:30 these phone-camera moments are particularly good. The small kiosk at the harbor already had freshly baked ensaimadas at 07:30: perfect with a café con leche for walkers, or simply a reward after a few steps up from Playa de Santa Ponsa.
In short: dry, mild and a bit atmospheric (cf. Santa Ponsa on September 17: Cloudy, warm and surprisingly dry). If you want to explore the island without heavy sweating, today is right: viewpoints, the promenade and short coastal paths offer the best views without getting sweaty after five minutes (see Clouds, Warmth, Walks: Weather for Santa Ponsa on 5 September 2025). For the evening a light jacket is sufficient — and maybe a small flashlight if you choose the rocky path to the viewpoint after sunset.
A small tip at the end: the afternoon sun likes to play hide-and-seek today. If a gap opens in the clouds, it can get very bright for a short time — sunscreen is therefore not a bad idea. Enjoy your walk, listen to the lapping of the waves and treat yourself to a break on one of the benches with a sea view.
