The cult night is back: Star Press Media Night opens tickets for Mallorca for the first time

World stars, relaxed encounters and a touch of island magic on the Country Club lawn

On August 8, when the heat of the day slowly fades and the pine crowns in Santa Ponsa sway in the evening air, a social slice of summer lands on the island again: The Star Press Media Night returns to the Mallorca Country Club and, for the first time, admits a limited number of visitors. From 7:00 PM an evening begins that in past years has turned into small island stories and big memorable moments.

The Country Club with its famous lawn, reminiscent of Wimbledon, is not a random host: here everyday tennis meets celebrity, and the spacious terraces provide enough room for conversations to happen instead of disappearing behind barriers. On the paths around the clubhouse you can hear the sounds of rolling suitcases, the soft clink of glasses and occasional laughter — scenes that make this evening feel less distant and more warm-hearted.

Musically the event has already written several chapters: performances by Chris de Burgh created touching moments, disco hits by a well-known soul singer got even shy guests moving, and a comeback performance by a former pop star recently prompted a standing ovation. New this year is that not only invited personalities can attend: a limited number of tickets are available now. This mixing of audience and stage is a trademark many consider particularly Mallorcan: a pinch of glamour, but without stern distance.

For Mallorca such an evening has several benefits. It brings visibility during a season when cultural and social events keep the island alive; local service providers such as caterers, transport companies or hoteliers benefit from additional demand; and smaller, independent vendors can present themselves on a stage otherwise reserved for big names. Residents discuss at the bakery whether traffic will increase, and in the evening regulars of the coastal bars sit a little later than usual with a glass by the entrance steps.

A look ahead: if the concept succeeds, the principle of limited tickets could in future create more local access — for example a small contingent for artists from the island or discounted places for event staff.
