4 October 2025: Leisurely Autumn Day in Cala Rajada – Ideal for Walks
Mild, slightly cloudy autumn day on the east coast: temperatures around 24 °C, light southwest wind and hardly any rain. Perfect for a leisurely afternoon at the harbor or a slice of cake on the promenade.
Autumnal calm on the east coast
The morning in Cala Rajada feels like an invitation to stroll: fishermen still hauling their nets, the smell of coffee from the Passeig Marítim and a thermometer showing around 20 °C at 7 a.m. The air is fresh enough for a light jacket, but warm enough to enjoy the first espresso outside. It's that typical, leisurely start to an October day – unhurried, with the gentle clatter of boats in the harbour as background music. For a similar harbour scene see Cala Rajada: Picture-perfect Autumn on 1 October 2025.
Course of the day: mild and steady
In the afternoon the mercury rises to roughly 24–24.5 °C, the night-time minimum is just below 19 °C. Those wandering through the lanes toward the centre at midday will feel a pleasant warmth: the perceived temperature is around 23–24 °C. It's not a day to escape the heat, but ideal for enjoying the off-season – open, less crowded beaches, quiet cafés and time for a book on a terrace bench. Wind, air pressure and humidity: light breeze, pleasant climate
The wind comes mainly from the southwest, roughly from 230°, with an average speed of about 5 m/s and gusts up to nearly 7 m/s. Air pressure is around 1019 hPa, and humidity is about 65–70%. This creates a comfortably bearable, slightly moving sea atmosphere — ideal for a coastal walk, as long as you have a light layer with you.
Clouds, chance of rain
The sky is often overcast: cloud cover can reach 90–95% (see Clouds, Sea and Balmy Air: Cala Rajada on October 3, 2025). That makes the day more grey than gloomy. The good news for day-trippers and sun-seekers: the chance of rain is almost zero — it stays dry, even if the sun only occasionally peeks through the clouds.
Sea, water activities and off-season atmosphere
The sea presents itself calm to moderately stirred. Stand-up paddlers and small boats still find sheltered sections; surfers will probably have to wait for the next real autumn storm. On the promenade, vendors and kiosk operators are slowly preparing for quieter days; around 5 p.m. the beach strip becomes noticeably emptier. Then you see more dog owners again, people walking with blankets and those slowly winding down the afternoon.
What to wear — practical tips
My advice: dress in layers. In the morning a light sweater or a thin windbreaker is sensible, at midday a T-shirt is enough, and in the evening you will reach for the thin jacket or a scarf again. Even on cloudy days, UV radiation should not be underestimated — see the WHO factsheet on ultraviolet (UV) radiation — sunscreen belongs in the bag, as does a pair of sunglasses for the bright moments between the clouds.
Evening hours and outlook
For night owls it stays pleasant on the terraces: temperatures drop to roughly 19–21 °C. A glass of wine outdoors is possible, the light breeze provides fresh air, and conversations on the promenade sound familiar and slow. In short: a calm, reliable autumn day on Mallorca's east coast — not spectacular, but cosy and well suited to slow enjoyment.
If you go out today, take your time for a walk along the harbour, a slice of cake in a bakery on the Passeig or a few pages from your favourite book. The sounds of the boats, the occasional laughter of people chatting and the salty air are reminders that the island has its own, cosy rhythm even in the off-season.
