Alcúdia on 24 August 2025: Cloudy, light northeast wind — but dry
On 24 August Alcúdia remains dry despite dense clouds. A light northeast wind provides pleasant warmth — ideal for promenade walks, street cafés and evening strolls.
Light northeast wind, dense clouds – and no rain in sight
If you walk along the promenade of Port d'Alcúdia early tomorrow morning, you'll first hear the distant roar of the waves and the occasional cry of the seagulls. A large umbrella can mostly stay at home: 24 August brings an almost closed cloud cover, but practically no precipitation. The air stays warm, not oppressive — just as many locals describe late summer here.
Temperatures: mild in the morning, warm at midday
The values start gently: in the morning thermometers show around 23.5 °C. By noon the mercury climbs to about 30.7 °C and only drops slightly in the afternoon to 29.9 °C. At night it remains warm at about 25.5 °C — cool nights that some tourists seek are not expected this week.
How it feels
Thanks to a steady breeze and moderate humidity it feels a little warmer at midday than the actual numbers: the perceived temperature maximum is around 31.7 °C. Morning and evening conditions are pleasant — perfect for a coffee on Plaça Major or a stroll through the shady alleys of the old town.
Wind, air pressure and humidity
A weak to moderate northeast wind blows from roughly 141° with average wind speeds around 4.2 m/s, gusts up to 6.1 m/s are possible. Air pressure is about 1015 hPa, humidity around 48 %. The breeze is more noticeable on the coast — good for sailors and for anyone looking for a light cooling.
Cloud cover and chance of rain
Cloud cover is high (nearly 98 %), yet the probability of rain is practically 0 %. In short: a lot of gray in the sky, but dry. Families planning a beach day can spread their towels — with the note that the sun breaks through at times and UV should not be underestimated.
On the beach you can particularly sense the mix of wind and sun: the air carries distant conversations of children, the creak of parasols and now and then the whir of bicycle tires on the promenade. A small sunshade is still advisable — the sun can be strong, even behind clouds.
Practical tips for the day
My little tip: pack a thin jacket for the evening — the temperature difference after sunset makes the walk through the old town even more pleasant. After 7 pm the atmosphere is relaxed, the street cafés fill up, and the air smells of fried fish and freshly ground coffee. Those who want to stay active will find good conditions for stand-up paddling on Playa de Alcúdia or for a short bike ride along the bay thanks to the breeze.
For parents and sun lovers: don't forget sunscreen. The combination of a light breeze and high UV leads people to quickly underestimate the sun — red noses in the evening are not nice, but easily avoidable.
Outlook
Overall, 24 August remains a very Mallorcan late-summer day: warm air, variable clouds and a fresh breeze from the northeast. No rain, a little less sun than on clear days, but pleasant conditions for promenades, markets and quiet hours on the beach. Enjoy Alcúdia — and maybe one last dip in the sea before the evenings noticeably lengthen.
