Condor increases summer schedule: daily connections from Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück starting May 1
Condor is resuming two German routes to Palma for the 2026 summer schedule: from May 1 the airline will operate daily flights from Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück to Mallorca. Additionally, Eurowings plans a significant increase in seat capacity to the island in May.
Condor increases summer flight offering: Daily connections from Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück from May 1
More flights, more visitors — and a bit of life at the street cafés along the Passeig
If you walk along the Passeig in Mallorca these days and glance at your phone, you'll see more booking confirmations for May and beyond. The news is simple: Condor will fly daily from Dortmund to Palma and daily from Münster/Osnabrück to Palma starting May 1. Concretely, two routes that paused for the winter are returning with the summer timetable.
For travelers the routes mean one main thing: reliable connections. On the Dortmund–Palma route Condor will operate an Airbus A321; the Münster/Osnabrück–Palma service will be operated with an Airbus A320 by Heston Airlines. For families, commuters and short-break travelers this means fewer transfers, more direct flights and often better times for weekend trips.
What this brings to the island is visible in everyday scenes: at the airport you can hear more suitcases rattling on the conveyor belt, taxi drivers at the exit count the first arrivals of the day, and the cafés in the old town fill up with guests who prefer to head straight to the sea. Spring helps too: when the sun already warms the stone of the plaça a little, terraces stay busier for longer.
At the same time Eurowings expands capacity from Berlin-Brandenburg to Mallorca, and it announced it will provide significantly more capacity to Mallorca in May. By the end of the month around 36,000 additional seats should be available, spread across roughly 100 extra flights. The measure applies not only to Mallorca but also to other popular destinations in the western Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, and similar growth is noted in winter flights from Bremen. For the island this means overall more travel options from several German regions, including services such as Travelcoup's Düsseldorf–Palma route, and likely higher load factors in the pre- and post-season.
This is good news for Mallorca: hotels, restaurants, bus companies and small coastal shops benefit from more reliable connections. Seasonal workers who want to come here have more options, and local service providers — from the bike rental in Portixol to the tapas bar in Santa Catalina — can gain planning security. For everyday life this means not only more guests but often also regular connections for family visits and business trips again.
A few simple tips for those planning their flight now: book tickets early, because additional capacity is often taken quickly; consider bus and taxi times for early and late flights; and travelers with light luggage usually experience less stress at the airport. Preparation pays off — on Mallorca that often means a short walk by the sea before the first coffee is served.
The return of the routes is not a dramatic upheaval but rather a familiar sound returning to the island: the clatter of suitcases on cobblestones, conversations in different languages and the occasional boarding announcement in the terminal. In the coming weeks it will become clear how the extra capacity affects bookings and the streets of Palma. For now: the island is getting daily connections again from Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück — and for many here that's a welcome start to the season.
Quick info: Condor: daily flights from May 1 from Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück to Palma; Dortmund served with an Airbus A321, Münster/Osnabrück with an Airbus A320 (operated by Heston Airlines). Eurowings: around 36,000 additional Mallorca seats by the end of May, about 100 extra flights.
