Manacor has received a modern fire station: 1,500 m², a training tower, a fitness room, and 36 firefighters on shifts to strengthen safety in eastern Mallorca.

Modern Fire Station in Manacor Officially Inaugurated

On a somewhat windy morning, shortly after 11:00, Manacor opened its new fire station. The hall on the outlying road to Son Servera looks practical yet solid: over 1,500 square meters, freshly painted, with gleaming doors, a row of parking bays for emergency vehicles and a training tower that sometimes resembles a mini watchtower in the middle of town.

What’s inside – short and concrete

In the station there are not only garages. Planned and built were:
\nTraining tower for fire and height exercises, fitness area for physical preparation, several training rooms and changing rooms with showers and hygiene zones. Also space for special equipment, a small workshop and a decontamination zone – keyword forest fires and hazardous materials.

The Personnel

36 firefighters are stationed, divided into four shifts. That means: around the clock there is always a crew ready for action, without colleagues having to work overly long shifts. On site, during the tour you could smell coffee and fresh rain on hot asphalt – the craftsmen are still tidying up while the responders check their hoses.

A Step for the Llevant Region

Representatives of the island administration stressed at the inauguration that the fire station should noticeably reduce response times in the eastern part of the island. Those traveling in the morning toward Cala Millor know the distances: faster intervention in traffic accidents or fires can save lives. The officials spoke of modernization that also provides protection for residents.

Voices from the Neighborhood

\n

One resident, who was walking her dog at the moment, half-jokingly said: 'Finally they're here – now at least you can hear that someone is awake when it burns.' Other neighbors were happy about the jobs. A few missed stronger technical equipment or more personnel, should the summer season and the related deployments increase.

What Remains Now

\n

The new fire station is set up, the first exercises are planned. In the coming weeks the team plans to run tests, conduct siren tests and deepen cooperation with rescue services in the surrounding area. In everyday terms: regular training, readiness and a quiet pride when the gates open in the morning.

For Manacor it is a visible sign: infrastructure that is not only built but also used. And yes, the coffee machine in the staff lounge is already running – probably the most important thing for long shifts.
