Sunset Society: Rooftop Evening at Aethos Brings Together House Beats, Sea Views and Neighbors
A warm August night at the RAIG Rooftop Bar: house music, white outfits and an audience of holidaymakers, residents and neighbors turned the Sunset Society into a small summer celebration above Palma.
Sunset Society: Rooftop Evening at Aethos Brings Together House Beats, Sea Views and Neighbors
Golden hour, DJ sets and a touch of neighborhood feeling at the RAIG Rooftop Bar
The evening was one of those when the heat slowly gives way to a salty breeze and the rooftop smells of sunscreen, olives and ice cream. On August 11 the RAIG Rooftop Bar at Aethos Mallorca filled up in time for the golden hour: guests in light outfits, the first sundowner glasses, the faint clinking of cutlery and the sea as a silent, vast backdrop.
The event was organized by JK Experiences together with Xclusive Mallorca and the local team. The two founders of JK, Janine Dietrich and Kira Eichhorn, deliberately invited an audience from different backgrounds: people who live here, those who are visiting, and those who have come to consider Mallorca a second home. The mix worked. Conversations began with “Where are you from?” and ended with dancing under the starry sky.
The musical thread was provided by DJ Jason Wats, known for his club sessions on the island. He started with relaxed house mixes for the welcome set at 7:30 pm and let the beats pick up after sunset. The music stayed gentle enough for small talk, but also clearly pushed the party mood as the lights went on and the dance floor became denser.
A hotel team led by manager Javier Saavedra and Food & Beverage Manager Maikel Escribano ensured that drinks and small dishes flowed smoothly. You could feel that this was not just about a playlist but about an overall experience: service, view, sound, and a certain lightness in how people interacted.
For Mallorca this format is more than a single evening. It shows how hotel spaces can become meeting places for the neighborhood, not just for guests. Such evenings create jobs for local staff, give DJs and caterers a stage and bring residents and visitors together at one table. On the street below the rooftop you could hear children laughing from Passeig, taxis stopping, the clatter of a bicycle basket – but up above the relaxed, connecting feeling of a summer celebration prevailed.
The response was clear: sold out. Not because it had to be louder, but because the concept was right. A well-curated guest list system, the right balance between exclusive flair and an open atmosphere, and a team that knew when to top up. In short: an evening in which the island showed its accessible side.
If you want to experience the next sunset on this terrace, mark September 18, 2026 in your calendar. The second round of the Sunset Society is planned; JK Experiences will announce details via their channels shortly. My tip: be early, bring a light jacket and wait for the moment when the sun gilds the sea – that's the moment when the music fits best.
These mini-festivals are more than a pleasant diversion for Mallorca: they connect people, keep work chains running and show how urban life and hotel culture can fit together. And practically speaking: after such an evening you go home more comfortably than if you had wandered alone through the old town. An evening that sounds like footsteps on tiles, conversations in different languages and a DJ who knows exactly when to drop the next track.
