Sunset Society: Rooftop Night at Aethos Raig – House, All-White and Sea Views

On August 11 the RAIG Rooftop Bar at Aethos Mallorca transformed for a few hours into a loud, warm meeting place. The evening air still carried the heat of the day – official readings in Palma had reached 35ºC in the afternoon – and over the bay the sun made everything shimmer in golden light. On the terrace the clinking of ice cubes, distant engine noises from the harbor and the laughter of people who weren’t ready to go home after a long summer day mixed together.

The evening was organised by JK Experiences, namely Janine Dietrich and Kira Eichhorn, in collaboration with Xclusive Mallorca and the hotel team. Hotel manager Javier Saavedra and Food & Beverage manager Maikel Escribano ensured that the bar was not only well filled but that service and small dishes matched the rhythm. The event started around 7:30 pm: welcome drinks, small rooftop bites and gentle house sounds set the tone.

A visible sign of the evening was the all-white dress code. That’s a tradition on Mallorca: you can spot it on heads and shoulders when tourists, residents and regular guests gather in one place. It was precisely this mix that shaped the mood. Alongside holidaymakers sat locals and German-speaking residents, couples and groups of friends, people visiting the island for only a few weeks and those who have lived here for a long time.

Musically, DJ Jason Wats, known for regular sets including at AMØK Mallorca, took charge. His set started relaxed, then moved into more driving house beats and gradually drew the small dance floor in. The whole thing remained stylish: not a loud club night, but an evening that slowly gained momentum while you still kept the sea in view.

What stood out that night was less the intention to stage a big event and more the effort to open up a space. The RAIG Rooftop Bar is part of a hotel, but that evening it felt like a meeting point for the city. For Mallorca this is a good thing: places that are usually reserved mainly for guests open up and create exchange between people with different connections to the island.

The response? Sold out. The hosts and the team recognized many familiar faces and also new visitors who had come precisely for an evening like this: sundowners, rooftop atmosphere, good food and electronic music without anyone having to pretend to be someone else. For the organisers, Sunset Society is a concept that combines personal contacts, careful selection of location and music, and a local network.

For anyone who missed the evening or wants to relive the night: the next Sunset Society at Aethos Raig is already scheduled. Save the date: September 18, 2026. JK Experiences will announce details about the guest list and programme via their social media channels in due course.

A small observation in passing: when the heat of the day slowly falls and the lights along the promenade begin to twinkle, an evening like this acquires a special calm. You don’t just go to see and be seen. You go to share a summer evening. Sunset Society makes that possible – uncomplicated, personal and with a sea view.
