Art Night ArtinSal in Ses Salines: An Evening Full of Color, Sound and Community
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Art Night "ArtinSal" will turn Ses Salines into an open studio: over 80 artists, live music, DJs and a colorful family program will fill the Plaça and the alleys from 5:00 PM. Our tips for a successful evening.
An evening that fills the streets
When on Saturday, 4 October 2025, from 5:00 PM the lamps on the facades of Ses Salines light up, you immediately feel it: the community is breathing culture. The small village in the southeast of Mallorca turns into a promenade for the night — as with other local events, such as the art nights in Esporles and Ses Salines — artists on site, people on the benches, the distant whisper of the sea and the occasional gust of wind that smells of salt. A perfect mix of summer memories and autumn air; a light jacket is not a bad idea.
What to expect
Around 80 artists – painters, sculptors, illustrators and craftspeople – distribute their works across Plaça de l'Església and the winding alleys. Some work live, others present small, almost intimate exhibitions in courtyards. In between: short plays, surprising performances and acts that put a smile on your face halfway through. On at least three stages DJs alternate with bands; from acoustic sets that pleasantly accompany conversation to grooves that invite you to dance. For children there are play and hands-on stations – so parents can enjoy the streets without constantly checking the time.
Food, drink, atmosphere
The air is full of the scents of local tapas, warm sandwiches and crepes. Small stalls offer coffee, mulled wine or tea, depending on how chilly the evening gets. Older neighbors often sit on the benches at the Plaça and talk about earlier times – a lovely, slightly nostalgic picture. If you want to try a particular dish, come early: popular stalls get busy quickly. And yes, a cold beer and the sound of a guitar in a narrow alley – that's the kind of evening many Mallorcans imagine.
Practical tips
The art night takes place mostly outdoors – comfortable shoes are therefore a must, cobblestones and narrow pathways are the norm. If you arrive by car, plan for about a ten-minute walk from the parking area or use the bus; parking in the town center is scarce. Some artists accept cash only, so it makes sense to bring some money. My secret tip: just before darkness falls, when lanterns and spotlights cast silhouettes of the groups of visitors, a particularly beautiful atmosphere arises. Meeting point if you get separated: the fountain on Plaça de l'Església usually works almost every time.
Why the art night is good for Ses Salines and Mallorca
ArtinSal is more than an evening outing: it is a stage for local creatives and a place where neighborhood ties are renewed. Events like this bring visitors to villages away from the big beachfront promenades, generate income in the shoulder season and strengthen the local cultural life; they complement larger city events such as Nit de l'Art. For families the event offers a calm, safe setting; for artists it is a chance to get direct feedback and find buyers — similar practical advice can be found in guides like Nit de l'Art 2025 — tips for Saturday evening. A small but fine boost for the local cultural economy — and for everyone who likes to stroll through alleys, listen to music and look at new pictures.
If you want to see the full program, check the official notices — there is so much to discover that it's easy to lose track. But that's exactly the charm.
