Brief interlude: sun instead of rain

After the wild showers of recent days the island can be felt breathing a sigh of relief. In the mornings you can hear the surf again along the Passeig Marítim, sunbeams sparkle on the water surface, and cafés fill their outdoor tables — some guests even have a towel with them, just in case. Models forecast a calm weather pattern for the coming week: plenty of sun during the day, only isolated clouds and little chance of precipitation. A small, irresistible late-November gift.

Up to 26 °C – where it will be warmest

The peak is expected on Thursday: local forecasts show values up to 26 °C particularly in the north and in sheltered locations. Leading the list is Pollença, but Alcúdia, Campos, Llucmajor and Palma are also likely to reach a pleasant 24–25 °C. In the southwest, around Andratx, about 24 °C is forecast. A light easterly wind ensures that it is warm but not oppressive — just right for long walks by the sea or a late espresso on the Plaça Major.

This is a typical Mallorca November phenomenon: enough sun to take off your jacket, but not so hot that you have to leap into the sea screaming. The Plaça Major fills with people having breakfast, and on the Passeig people choose the bright tables rather than the shade. Sometimes it almost feels like autumn is on holiday and only briefly returns.

The sea stays cool — but still swimmable for many

For those hoping to go out in short sleeves and swimwear now: the sea remains noticeably cooler than the air. Measurements on Monday morning showed about 19.4 °C off Pollença and around 20.2 °C near Andratx. That's plenty for a quick refresh; early swimmers and locals who love the cold water are already out. Tourists usually sniff the air first and then decide spontaneously.

The nights, by contrast, have become noticeably cooler. In the island's interior and in the Serra de Tramuntana temperatures have sometimes dropped into single figures, while coastal spots like the lighthouse at Capdepera measured a mild 17 °C. So the rule is: sunglasses by day, a light jacket in the evening.

Sahara dust and a week for coastal runs

Between the clear days Sahara dust can drift through from time to time. This makes the air a bit hazy, gives the sea a muted color and means windshields can carry a light powder in the early morning. Those who are sensitive should pay attention to their airways late in the afternoon. For everyone else, it's the perfect week for coastal hikes, long beach walks and a late, small swim — if you are brave.

In short: Mallorca gives us a mild, bright intermezzo this week. Village streets fill with people, you can hear church bells in the background and the clinking of espresso cups on the plazas. Pack a light jacket for the evening, sunglasses for the afternoon — and decide for yourself whether to take the plunge into the cool water.
