On the quay of Port de Sóller, when the sun makes the plexiglass of the harbour bistros sparkle and the cry of the seagulls competes with the clatter of the rowing boats, a familiar guest has been seen these days: Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel is named as one of the most prominent German coaches of his generation. Since January 2025 he has held the position of head coach of the England national team. For the neighbourhood, it remains important that respect for privacy takes precedence; a photo may make headlines, but in everyday life politeness and mutual consideration count.

And a small, pragmatic tip: when you walk along the mole, enjoy the sea, the smell of fried fish and the conversations in several languages — but leave people who are simply on holiday in peace.

On a hot August day Port de Sóller looks as usual: the heat shimmers above the guitar strains of a street musician, a fisherman's dog dozes on the wooden planks, and everyday life goes on, with the special aftertaste that the island occasionally receives prominent visitors without making a fuss.
