Port d'Andratx: Cloudy but dry – Evening stroll on 7 September 2025
Thick skies, little sun – yet a relaxed evening in Port d'Andratx. A walk along the quay, mild warmth and the scent of the sea: this is how the harbor presented itself on 7 September.
Clouds over the harbor, but no need for rain panic
On the evening of 7 September, Port d'Andratx lay beneath a dense layer of clouds, yet the atmosphere on the quay was more cozy than oppressive. The sun hid shyly behind grey sheets, but no rain fell – a rare moment when you can still feel the summer light without squinting in bright glare. Around 18:30 a fisherman in a yellow jacket calmly sorted his nets, gulls circled, and the soft clinking of rigging mixed with the distant drone of an excursion boat. (See Nubes, pero seco: el tiempo en Port d'Andratx el 7 de septiembre de 2025.)
Temperatures – warm but not stifling
The numbers say: about 24.6 °C in the morning, around 26.7 °C during the day and a daily high just under 28.0 °C. Nights also remain mild with values around 26.1 °C. For Mallorca's late summer this is pleasant – no heat alarm, but enough warmth for a late stroll along the pier or an ice cream on the promenade, similar to Cloudy, dry and mild: A relaxed day in Palma (6 September 2025).
How the air feels
Humidity is around 69 %, which makes the warmth feel a bit more oppressive in some sheltered spots. The perceived temperature locally climbed to about 29 °C, especially where buildings block the sea breeze. Still: anyone sitting outside in the evening more often hears locals chatting on terraces than tourists groaning about the heat – a good sign for relaxed evenings.
Pressure, wind and wave behavior
Air pressure was noted at around 1016 hPa. The wind shifted from east-southeast (about 109°) and blew at an average of 5.8 m/s, with gusts up to 7.6 m/s. Cloud cover was high – almost 97 % overcast. For boaters this means: not a perfect calm, but quite manageable. Those heading out to sea should keep an eye on the gusts – crews at the marina hauled in lines again towards the evening.
Why this weather suits Port d'Andratx
A grey, dry evening has its charm here: promenades fill with people who love the softer light; photographers find gentle contrasts, and waterfront restaurants benefit from longer terrace hours without sunburn alerts. The fishermen also seem content – the weather doesn't force rushed work; there's room for the harbor's slow rhythm.
Looking ahead and a small tip
In the short term the situation remains stable and dry, but meteorologists see a change expected early next week. If you have plans for beach days or excursions, check the forecasts, especially from Tuesday onwards — see Mayormente nublado, pero seco: el tiempo el 27 de septiembre en Port d'Andratx. Our tip for the evening: a light sweater is enough, and in sheltered spots it can stay warm. If you meet an old captain with a thermos on the quay – ask him for the best spot to watch the sunset. He usually knows exactly where the light falls nicest.
So Port d'Andratx remains a place to linger even on a cloudy day: gull calls, the sweep of a broom at a restaurant across the way, and the quiet of small boats – a small, familiar harbor scene that will likely be seen here again in the coming days.
