200 Roses and Mallorca Dreams: Rocco Reitz Says "I Do"
Footballer Rocco Reitz married at a finca in southeastern Mallorca in early July. An intimate celebration, over 200 white roses and a signed jersey as a thank-you shaped the evening.
Mallorca in the sunshine: An intimate wedding full of heart
In early July a quiet finca in the southeast of Mallorca became the meeting point for family, friends and a touch of celebrity flair for one evening. Rocco Reitz, a midfielder from Germany, celebrated his wedding in Mallorca with Laura. Not a loud big event, but a celebration that sounded like island calm: the chirping of cicadas, the clinking of glasses and a light sea breeze carrying the scent of 200 white roses.
A celebration with a personal touch
The ceremony took place in the protected garden of the finca, beneath a canopy of white blooms and at a long table set for a shared dinner. Style and simplicity dominated: candles, unobtrusive decoration, regional products on the plates. The wedding felt like an evening among close friends – only that the hosts were a professional footballer and the daughter of a former Bundesliga player.
The details that linger
Particularly memorable was the giant champagne tower that sparkled at dusk, and an opulent wedding cake that marked the end of the official part. The planner of the evening, Mareike Jakél, spoke of ten months of preparation and an eye for the small things: from the placement of the roses to the right light when the sun set behind the olive trees. As a token of appreciation the couple gave her a signed jersey – a personal memento that showed how close the circle was.
An evening to forget the sporting disappointment
Curiously, just a few days earlier Reitz had suffered a painful defeat in the European Championship semi-final with the U21. For the moment that result was forgotten. On Mallorca something else gained importance: calm, closeness and the shared desire to celebrate a new chapter of life. For guests such as family members and teammates the island thus offered the perfect mix of privacy and Dolce Vita atmosphere, even when the island turns into a stadium for Cup Nights in Mallorca: Five Island Teams in Copa del Rey Fever.
Why Mallorca still attracts as a wedding island
Such celebrations show what many locals already know: Mallorca works excellently as a backdrop for intimate weddings. The island offers not only photo motifs – cliffs, olive groves, enchanted fincas – but also service providers who work flexibly, local producers and an infrastructure that enables discretion. For the region this means: jobs in gastronomy, floristry, hospitality and event planning directly benefit from such occasions.
An inspiring look ahead
The evening at the finca was not a loud show, but an example of how celebrity and locality can fit together, as in Velvet and Numbers: Porsche Wedding, Property Transfers and What Mallorca Has to Do With It. For Mallorca that is good news: if the island offers places where people can celebrate in peace, it remains attractive – not only for celebrities, but for couples from all over Europe who want a deliberate, beautiful celebration. And for all of us here: it's another small story that shows how Mallorca brings people together – with roses, a glass of champagne and the sound of the waves in the distance.
