Cozy, Cloudy but Dry: Sóller on October 3, 2025
A calm autumn day in Sóller: thick clouds, mild temperatures, and a 0% chance of rain. Perfect for a walk through the orange groves — bring a warm jacket and a camera.
Sóller enjoys a grey but pleasant autumn day
I stood on the Plaça this morning around 8:00 — the scent of coffee hung between the plane trees, and Sóller felt as if the island had briefly pulled the handbrake: lots of clouds, little sun, but dry. The air was slightly humid, almost as if the Tramuntana had carried a little sea spray and then let it go again. No reason to panic, rather a day to take a deep breath — and to stroll through the orange groves.
Temperatures: mild, not hot
The thermometers settled in: in the morning values were around 17.3 °C, by early afternoon we reach a high of about 23.6 °C (around 14:00–15:00). In the afternoon it cools slightly to around 21.7 °C, and in the evening we can expect a pleasant value of about 19.7 °C. In short: the mild Mallorcan autumn weather you've secretly always wanted — warm enough for an outdoor cappuccino, cool enough for a light jacket.
How it feels — pressure, humidity and wind
The perceived temperatures follow this calm pattern as well: in the morning about 17.3 °C, in the afternoon just under 23.7 °C and at night around 20.1 °C. The air pressure is approximately 1022 hPa, the humidity around 62%. The wind comes from a west-southwest direction (about 249°) with a moderate strength of roughly 3.4 m/s, gusts reach barely more than 3.5 m/s. For boaters and tram enthusiasts this means normal operations — the ferry and the historic tram to Port de Sóller should run without restrictions; see Sóller on October 4: Cloudy, mild and perfect day for outings.
Clouds, but no rain
Cloud cover is almost complete today, about 100% — an overcast sky that breaks the light in interesting ways and makes the colors of the orange groves almost painterly. Still, the chance of rain is 0%. In short: grey, but dry. In the morning I met locals on the promenade who just shrugged and said: "Better like this than torrential downpours."
Practical tips for Sóller visitors
Don't plan a beach day — the sun won't be cooperative. However, a walk toward the bay is recommended: the clouds create dramatic lighting over the orange trees, perfect subjects for your camera; read about a similar cloudy stroll in Sóller on 27 September 2025: mild, cloudy — a late-summer day for strolling. Bring a warm jacket; evenings are pleasantly around 20 °C — ideal for a late tapas stop on the Plaça when the street lamps come on and you can hear the distant tolling of church bells.
The atmosphere is relaxed: less tourist noise, more room for local conversations, the clatter of espresso cups and the occasional cry of seagulls at the harbor. For active travelers, hikes in the Serra de Tramuntana are still possible, provided you're a bit flexible with light and visibility.
Looking ahead
For today: cozy, cloudy, dry — Sóller is taking a short break from the summer bustle. If conditions change, we'll report back; previous live updates include Sóller on 8 October 2025: A mild autumn day to take a breather. Until then: pack a jacket, don't forget the camera, and enjoy the slow rhythm of this Mallorcan October day.
